November Short Day Vibes

Dear SìYoga followers,

we are already in the second half of November, the days are shorter and shorter, the air is cold, the last colourful leaves accumulate under the trees, leaving them behind more and more naked and offering us these wonderful autumn panoramas. Have you already taken your time to make a walk in the woods? Have you ever tried to jump on the carpets of death leaves? Have you already picked up mushrooms? If not, do it! :) Autumn is magic. Its colours are so impressive... yellow, red, brown, green. They create an unique atmosphere in which I love to get lost, as I did few days ago in this wonderful woods in Brandeburg.

Time to calm down, time for reflection, time for thinking. The long dark hours tend to make you more meditative and introspective. And this year this phenomena is even more marked, as all kind of social distractions are forbidden. It will be a special end of the year. The world is locking down. Again. You cannot see your friends or family in the same way you were doing before, at least not in a big group and not home. But now outside it's cold, so it's getting harder to keep alive our social contacts in person. It is true that we can do it digitally, thanks to the holy internet, which enables us to communicate with everybody everywhere. But as we all know, it's not the same at all....

They found a vaccine, they say, so let's hope that soon we can get back to normality and not be afraid of staying close to each other anymore!

Until the end of the pandemic comes, we have no choice but to remain patient and continue to use this time we have for self-reflection, self-development and self-care.

This new lockdown prevents me to start my new cooperation with Sinnlicht too, nevertheless I had the honor of teaching in person in their studio just the week before the new lockdown, as one teacher couldn't go, so I replaced her for that day. In this way I experienced teaching a yin yoga/ meditation class to new students, which I really enjoyed a lot! Teaching face to face is much more "human" and natural than through a screen. And most important thing you can see your students completely from head to feet, thing that often is not possible through the webcam.

But that is now the current situation, we cannot teach in person and we cannot do anything to change it, until the virus won't be less dangerous and the "governors" of the world won't change their decisions. Regarding this last point you can actually give your contribution to our universal consciousness as yogi, by chanting with me the opening and especially the closing mantra at the beginning of my Ashtanga Yoga online classes, every Monday from 7:45 pm to 9:15 pm. The Closing chanting brings indeed the practice to a peaceful end, sealing in the work done and offering the efforts of our practice to improve the state of the world. My favorite part is the following:

"Svasthi Praja Bhyaha Pari Pala Yantam

Nya Yena Margena Mahim Mahishaha"

It means

"May the rulers of the earth keep to the path of virtue

for protecting the welfare of all generations."

I don't think there is a more appropriate expression to describe the moment right now :) So in this sense... Lokah Samastah Sukhino Bhavantu

Om Shanti Shanti Shantihi

(translation) May all beings everywhere be happy and free

Om peace, peace, perfect peace

See you in one of my classes soon!

With love,

Silvia
